Our application moves forward (and other “shocking” news)
We did it! In under 24 hours we raised enough money to pay our SDCI review fees, thus advancing our application for improvements to Hidden Beach. A big thanks to all of you Hidden Beachgoers and to our non-profit fiscal partners, Lakewood Seward Park Neighborhood Association — their steady financial hand is much appreciated.
And now for the “shocking” news. A new sign on the north homeowners dock resulted in a flurry of texts, emails and calls from beachgoers today. The sign reads:
”ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD RISK: no swimming within 100 yards of the boat dock.” Here’s hoping the fish can read.
Are there actual electric wires ready to shock the public in public waters? We don’t know and we recommend you avoid the dock area until we know more. People have reported this to SDOT, the Harbor Police, and Find It Fix It. Your voice matters, so please send your concerns to the City or Harbor Police.
Despite the weird sign, people have been out in increasing numbers—swimming, sun bathing, and generally vibing out. We look forward to seeing y’all at the beach. (But beware the shock dock!)
