No swimming within 100 yards of a public beach 🤦

100 yard no swimming zone as defined by the north homeowner’s new sign (measurement is approximate)

If you’ve been following the latest updates, you’ll know that Hidden Beach (aka E Harrison Street End) now sits smack in the middle of the north homeowner’s “no swimming within 100 yards of the boat dock” zone.

We’re all still swimming there. Nobody has been shocked (electrically, that is). And maybe the sign is all buzz and no zap. It’s hard to know.

But if the message is genuine, we encourage the homeowner to call an electrician. To alert SDCI and SDOT about the potential shock hazard to the public. To inform their neighbors that according to their new warning, no one is safe to swim within 100 yards of their private dock in public water, neighboring a public beach.

On the plus side: you can now charge your EV at Hidden Beach (if you drive it into the water).
