The peace and quiet of the Shire
When we look at the proposal, it offers so much for everyone involved:
more green
a fair balance between the two driveways
a central entry point for the public
a safe loading zone (away from the north homeowner’s front door)
removal of the no parking signs because parking will be on the street
did we mention MORE GREEN?
an opportunity to return to normalized relations (as it’s been for decades prior to this)
If we remain at this standstill, the swimmers, kids, paddle boarders, and walkers will continue coming, but will be forced to enter toward the left half of the public land. The right half is blocked by a concrete driveway. The entrance will remain gravel, when it could be trees and plantings. The new loading zone will force people to load people and kayaks onto the street (the trees currently block the loading zone from the sidewalk). The no parking signs will irk people who have been going here for generations.
But there’s another way that would help us all get along.
