Pressure Relief
Currently the foot traffic to Hidden Beach is routed toward the north side—when you enter the street end, you walk to the left of the public shore sign. Why? Because the driveway and hedge of the south homeowner covers half the entry point.
Our plan would alleviate this pressure point—giving the north homeowner a little breathing room, and partially pushing back the south homeowner’s concrete driveway on public land. The public would have central access to the park. It’s a democratic solution, balancing a lot of competing interests.
Those new ‘no parking’ signs? They go away as the parking gets pushed to the street (right in front of the park) making room for new trees and plantings. The loading zone will unload to the sidewalk—no more awkward unloading to the street in front of the north neighbor’s house.
More green. Bigger public entrance. Two driveways. Pressure relief.

If sliding the white line doesn’t work, see the image below. Wait a few seconds and you’ll see the photo animate with a before-and-after view.
