A Yule Log … Bench
Joy Hollingsworth (our City Council member/hero) called the first week of December to confirm that the $15,000 she proposed for use at Hidden Beach was included in the recently passed City budget. Joy to the world/beach/bench!
We’ve contacted SDOT about installing one (perhaps two, depending on cost) natural log bench —Western Red Cedar — 10ft-ish in length, secured above the high water mark. This log and its installation has an estimated cost of $10,000 and is in keeping with our general plan to keep things simple, provide seating and use natural materials.
Bench for envisioning purpose only. Batteries not included, etc.
Big props to Joy and the City Council for coming through for our little-beach-that-could.
